Last March or April, I had developed a pitch about the dancer Peggy Baker for The Walrus. For some reason beyond recall, I did not send the pitch off right away. In fact, I waited until mid-July before even showing it to my friend. After he read it and encouraged me to send it in right away, I decided the worst and the most likely that could happen would be rejection and so I did it. So just prior to our vacation at the end of August, I heard they wanted the story. Last week, I met with an editor from the magazine and I have a six-week deadline to deliver a 2,000 word article. Woohoo!

If you haven't frequented this site for some time, you might be surprised to see the updates and discover some content of which you may have been unaware.
I have also decided to begin blogging again. Ebb and Flow is a space for confluence in my written life. By bringing back the name of my first blog, I hope to reconnect with the energy, space, and thoughtfulness that I felt permeated those previous posts.
