Vague writing and concepts become clear through proper editing. As an academic editor, I help manuscripts (whether a thesis, dissertation, or monograph) achieve precision and clarity in language, focus in argumentation, and overall coherence in structure.
I work in most disciplines, including the humanities, social sciences, sciences, applied health sciences, business, and education. Manuscripts are edited in the following four manners:
1. structural editing (clarifying argumentation and paragraph flow)
2. copy-editing (developing sentence meaning and varied structures)
3. proofreading (correcting grammar, punctuation, and diction)
4. APA, MLA, or Chicago formatting and reference checking.
My rate is: $40/hr. Under ordinary circumstances, I can edit approximately 9 to 11 pages an hour. This page rate is governed by the degree of editing required by the materials submitted. If interested, I can also quote on a project based on a brief scan of a sample.
